Riddle Hospital Map: Parking, Garages and How to Get In

Which entrance and garage to use at Riddle Hospital in Media, what parking costs, where the ER lot is, and how to get there by car, train or bus.

Illustrated top-down map of a hospital campus with three parking garages and a dotted route to a pin, titled Riddle Parking Map

Last checked: October 18, 2026. This is an independent Riddle Hospital map and parking guide. It is not affiliated with Riddle Hospital or Main Line Health.

Riddle Hospital sits at 1068 West Baltimore Pike in Media, and the campus has two driveways off Baltimore Pike, three parking garages (East, West and South) and a few small free lots. If you only need one thing from this Riddle Hospital map guide: use the West Entrance for the Emergency Department and the Rothman building, and the East Entrance for the main hospital and the outpatient center. For hours, phone numbers and services, start with our Riddle Hospital overview.

In an emergency, call 911. Don’t stop to study a map.

Riddle Hospital map: what’s on the campus

Main Line Health describes the campus as a main hospital, four health center buildings, three parking garages and ground-level parking (Main Line Health’s Riddle location page). The newest building is the patient Pavilion, a $327 million addition with 76 private rooms that replaced an old surface lot and added a new main entrance (Philly YIMBY).

The entrance split comes from Main Line Health’s own directions and parking page, which sends West Entrance traffic to Health Center 1, the ED, Health Center 4 and the West and South garages, and East Entrance traffic to the main hospital, Health Centers 2 and 3 and the East Garage.

About the official Riddle Hospital map PDF

Main Line Health’s printable Riddle campus map is still the one most people find on Google. It shows the buildings, the West, East and Emergency entrances, the garages, valet and bus stops, plus an interior map of Level 1 with colored walking paths. It carries a November 2021 stamp and still marks a “construction area,” so treat it as a rough layout. The Pavilion has since opened. If something on the ground doesn’t match the PDF, follow the signs.

Which garage should you use?

Pick the garage by where you are going, not by which one you see first.

East Garage is the one to use for the main hospital, a visit to an inpatient, the Pavilion lobby or an outpatient appointment in Health Center 3. Turn in at the East Entrance. If you are seeing a patient on a ward, check the Riddle visiting hours and badge rules before you park.

West Garage sits near the Emergency Department and the patient Pavilion. Free surface spots are also squeezed between the West Garage and the Pavilion.

South Garage connects to the hospital by a bridge, and there is a greeter and discount desk at the bridge entrance. Riddle Surgical Center tells its patients to come in the West Entrance, turn left into the parking garage and cross the glass walkway on level 2 into Health Center 4, then take the elevator to the 4th floor (Riddle Surgical Center directions). The center also warns patients not to use the main hospital lot.

Driving a van, a pickup with a rack or anything tall? The West and South garages have 6-foot-10-inch clearance, and oversized vehicles are sent to the flat lots around those two garages.

Riddle Hospital parking fees and payment

These are the rates Main Line Health lists on its Riddle location page as of October 2026.

Self-parking in a garageRate
Up to 30 minutesFree
31 minutes to 3 hours$5
3 to 8 hours$7
8 to 24 hours$12
Seniors and people with disabilities$3 flat
VeteransFree

Valet costs $7, or $5 for seniors and people with disabilities, and is free for veterans. Valet runs at the Pavilion Lobby entrance from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and at the Health Center 3 entrance from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Parking is cashless. Bring a credit or debit card and keep your ticket. You can pay at a station before you walk back to the car (there are pay stations in the East, West and South garages, the Emergency Department, the Health Center 4 bridge and the main lobby) or pay in the exit lane.

The senior, disability and veteran rates are not automatic. You need a valid ID, such as a Medicare card or driver’s license, and you get the discount at a greeter or hospitality desk: the main lobby, the Health Center 3 ground level or the South Garage bridge entrance. Do this before you leave the building, not at the gate.

One warning about older pages: a copy of Main Line Health’s directions page still shows a $3 flat garage fee and $5 valet. Those are older rates. The main Riddle location page above has the current table.

Free parking spots

There are a limited number of free surface spaces behind Health Center 3 and between the West Garage and the Pavilion. They are first come, first served and meant for patients. On a weekday morning, don’t count on them.

Parking for the Riddle ER

The Emergency Department has its own lot, reached from the West Entrance, and it is for ER patients only. Emergency patients get their parking validated, and the ED has its own pay station. If you’re dropping someone off and staying for hours, ask at the desk about validation before you go back out to the car. Our guide to what to expect at the Riddle ER covers check-in and waits, and the ER’s direct line is 484-227-8215.

Directions to Riddle Hospital

Main Line Health’s directions page gives these routes. The key detail for almost everyone is the second traffic light on Baltimore Pike.

  1. From Center City Philadelphia: I-95 South to I-476 North, exit 5 (Springfield/Lima), then US Route 1 South (the Media Bypass) about four miles. Stay in the left lane on Baltimore Pike, pass under the Route 352 overpass and turn left at the second light into the West Entrance.
  2. From City Line Avenue: US Route 1 South about 15 miles, onto the Media Bypass and Baltimore Pike, then left at the same second light.
  3. From Route 202 and points west: US Route 1 North (Baltimore Pike) about eight miles. Pass Route 452 (Pennell Road), stay right for about half a mile and turn right at the second light into the West Entrance.
  4. From Wilmington: I-95 North to exit 2 (Boothwyn), Route 452 North about 5.7 miles to US Route 1 North, then after about half a mile stay right and turn right at the light.

Going to the main hospital rather than the ER? You can still come in the West Entrance, but Main Line Health pairs the main hospital with the East Entrance and East Garage.

By train, bus or hospital shuttle

Main Line Health points train riders to SEPTA’s Media Regional Rail line to Elwyn Station, about two miles southeast of the hospital, with a taxi from there. SEPTA bus Route 117, which runs toward Penn State Brandywine, stops at Riddle. Check SEPTA for the current schedule before you go, since suburban bus routes and times change.

Riddle also runs a hospital shuttle Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Main Line Health lists 443-274-8704 to request it. The page doesn’t say where the shuttle goes, so ask when you call.

When you get inside

Visitors need a temporary badge from the greeters at the main entrance, and you’ll be asked for a government-issued ID such as a driver’s license or passport. If you have an outpatient test, our guide to Riddle imaging and lab locations tells you which building and floor to head for. For anything else, the Riddle department phone directory lists the numbers worth saving, including Public Safety at 484-227-8429.

Coming from Chester or anywhere that used to rely on Crozer? Riddle is one of several options now. Our list of every open hospital and ER in Delaware County compares them.

Frequently asked questions

Only for the first 30 minutes in a garage, for veterans, and in the handful of free surface spots behind Health Center 3 and near the West Garage. Otherwise garage parking runs $5 to $12 depending on how long you stay.

Can I pay for parking with cash?

No. All Riddle garages are electronic payment only, so bring a credit or debit card.

Use the West Entrance off Baltimore Pike and follow the Emergency signs to the ED patient lot.

The East Garage is off the East Entrance, on the same side as the main hospital, Health Center 2 and Health Center 3. It’s the usual choice for visitors and outpatients.
